Our role
AskShip arranges vehicle transportation with licensed and insured motor carriers. The carrier assigned to your shipment physically transports your vehicle.
Quotes and locked rates
Online prices are estimates based on the information you provide. A locked rate is held for 30 days for the route, vehicle, condition and transport type you entered. If those details change, the price may change.
Pickup and delivery
Pickup is scheduled within a window, not on an exact date, unless you purchase expedited service with a guaranteed window. Transit times are estimates and can be affected by weather, traffic and regulations.
Payment
No payment is due to lock a rate. A booking fee is charged when a carrier is assigned. The balance is paid to the carrier at delivery by the method confirmed before pickup.
Cancellation
You can cancel free of charge any time before a carrier is assigned.
Vehicle condition and damage
The carrier inspects your vehicle at pickup and delivery and records its condition on the Bill of Lading. Any damage must be noted on the Bill of Lading at delivery to support a claim against the carrier's cargo insurance. Personal items left in the vehicle are not covered.
